Vegetables For The Low-Carbers

Unlike fruits, there are many vegetables that you can choose from that contain a very small amount of carbs in them. Many people thing that every single vegetable is ok to consume, but that may not be the case. The best kinds of vegetables to consume on a low carb diet are cabbage, celery, mushrooms, spinach, cauliflower, cucumbers, broccoli, green pepper, red peppers, jalapeno peppers, tomatoes, onions, okra, brussels sprouts, snow peas, water chestnuts, and turnips. These are the best possible vegetables you can consume on a low carb diet and not have to worry about counting the carbs on them. The worst vegetables you could choose(those that are very high in carbs) are vegetables like beets, peas, plantains, potatoes, carrots, and especially corn and winter squashes. It definitely takes some getting use to, but as you go through the routine of a limited meal, you will learn what fits your lifestyle the best.
