Don’t Believe The Vegetable Myth

I know that if you have been on a low carb diet for a while, you often have to wonder how the myth about vegetables every actually got started. While on a low carb diet, eating vegetables is actually encouraged more than eating fruit. I believe that some of the confusion may have come from the fact that potatoes are not favored on the low carb diet. You can eat them, but it is on a occasion. Potatoes have a lot of carbs and because they are a vegetable, many people believe that all vegetables must contain a lot of carbs and you should not eat them. This is not true. You can enjoy wonderful vegetables like broccoli, cauliflower, string beans, asparagus, and many others. Now while you can easily enjoy these vegetables on a low carb diet, there are a few you should control your portions with. These vegetables are corn, carrots, and potatoes. Once again, this is not to say that you cannot eat them, it just means that you should try not eat a lot of them.
