What you don’t know about low carb diets

While low carb diets may initially help you lose weight, part and parcel of low carb diets are its side effects. Because of the low mineral and nutrient content of these kinds of diets, you may encounter nutrient deficits. Therefore, you need to supplement your diet with vegetables, since these contain lots of minerals.


You may also experience bad breath because of the decomposition of food in the stomach. Again, increasing your intake of dark green and leafy vegetables and oral fluids may help. Another problem caused by low vegetables and carbs in the diet is constipation, which is due to the lack of fiber in low carb diets.


If you have already developed a nutrient deficit, you may experience hair loss and leg cramps. For these effects, consider taking multivitamins and mineral substitutes.


There are many risks for a low carb diet, so make sure that you know how to handle the problems that may arise.
