Must eat fruits for a low carb diet

A big point of dispute among advocates of low carb diets is the type of fruits allowed for people under a low carbohydrate diet. For example, the first phase of the well-known Atkins diet does not allow the intake of fruits. But common sense tells us that eliminating fruits from the diet is not really an option. With all the health benefits that we get from fruits, they are practically indispensible parts of every diet.


The only thing that you need to do is to weed out the fruits that are low in sugar from those that have high sugar content. Lemons are great for people under a low carb diet, since these have low sugar content. Other low carb fruits include rhubarb, raspberries, blackberries, and cranberries.


You can also eat the following fruits sparingly, since they have medium sugar content: strawberries, melons, papayas, watermelon, peaches, nectarines, blueberries, cantaloupes, apples, guavas, apricots, and grapes.
