Be Sure Dehydration Does Not Bring You Down

While there are many ups to the low carb diet, you often have to worry about the downsides that come with it as well. In those first two weeks of being on a low carb diet, you will notice that you lose a significant amount of weight. But this is not because it is the healthy kind of weight loss. While on the low carb diet for the first time, you lose a lot of glycogen that the body needs. This is actually what causes your massive weight loss in your first two weeks because when your glycogen becomes depleted, you become dehydrated. In other words, that is not fat that you are losing so fast, it is your water content and you also have massive muscle loss as well. This is not a good thing at all. I guess you could call this a quick, but deceptive drop in your weight.
