Get rid of your zits by eating low carb

Are you struggling with acne breakouts every now and then? Well, perhaps it is time for you to take a look at what you are eating.

It has always been believed that high carbohydrate foods with a high glycemic index may influence the severity of one’s acne. In other words, these are foods that are very high in sugar content, like sweets, sodas, and junk foods – the typical teenage diet. However, there have been no studies to prove that this assumption is correct, until recently.

A study done in the Royal Melbourne Hospital supported this assumption, based on the results of the study. The teenagers who were given high protein, low carb diets with low glycemic indexes showed a 50% reduction in acne breakouts, as compared to the ones who were given high carb foods.

This does not necessarily mean that if you eat less sugary foods, your acne will disappear completely. But at least you know the things that you should eat and those that you should avoid.
